[Note: I wrote this on May 18, but am only posting now. Thank you shoddy internet. ;) ]
Dada surprised Auggie and Eland with new toys yesterday after work! They were thrilled! Eland got a new green tractor, while Auggie got a build-it-yourself Audi A8 Spyder. The only requirement was that Auggie had to wait until the next day to put his car together. (Probably because I'm feeling a bit sick and this gives me a great daytime activity for Auggie.)
The boys have been so happy and, more importantly, very entertained with their new toys! Here they are, along with the boys doing silly faces at lunch:

"Take a picture of the wheel!"
(Did I mention that the tires come off? Probably Auggie's favorite feature to date!)
Name that movie: In what movie can you find Luigi's Tower of Tires, which Auggie has carefully recreated above? (answer below) |

| I'm eating lunch, too busy to smile for the camera. :P |
 |
| Yeeeew! Silly face! |
 |
| Why not add Mama to the mix? |
What's interesting to me is the progression of Auggie's nighttime "loveys". While he enjoys sleeping with one or two stuffed animals, the It item that he's always needed in order to fall asleep has been hard-plastic or metal. First there was Little Truck, the Toy Story Duplo truck that Aunt Elaine and Uncle John gave him. He seriously could not sleep without Little Truck for his entire second year of life. Next it was Old Fashioned, the orange 1951 Chevy Pick-up. Auggie used to tell me, "Old Fashioned helps me sleep." Now I have a feeling that "Xerox Car" will soon be showing Auggie the way to dreamland.
Originally, Auggie was calling the car "Soap Box Car" which is from a Handy Manny episode where Manny helps his nephew Pepe put together a soap box car for a race. We watched it yesterday. But more recently he has decided on the name "Xerox Car" which mimics life rather than TV: We currently drive a borrowed car wrapped in Xerox branding.

| On the bed behind the boys you can see Little Truck |
 |
| Here's Old Fashioned. I'm kind of shocked that I literally can't find a better picture than this. |
 |
| "Mama, there are mirrors!" |
 |
| Auggie in love. :) |
Answer: Luigi's Tower of Tires comes from the movie Cars.
