In the end of April we went to Rocklands with some friends for a completely awesome climbing weekend. Rocklands is in the north Cedarberg and is a premier place to climb, thus Dan and Andy were in heaven. We actually just came back from a second trip there yesterday (with my mom!!!!) but I haven't downloaded photos yet. Here's the backlog from last month.. Enjoy!

| Rocks as far as the eye can see |
| Vineyards nearing where we stayed |
| Olive trees on the property as well |
| Typically we camp, but this weekend we stayed in The Homestead at Alpha-Excelsior Guest Farm. It couldn't have been cooler or more luxurious. |
| The view!! |
| Check out this farm rose! Farm roses here have a scent that is out of this world! |
| The view out the front door |
| On Saturday morning we headed over to Bastille. Here's Dan working a route that I think is called Battle of the Bulge (22). |
| The Bastille is pretty high up so the view was spectacular |
| I brought my telephoto lens :) |
| Andy belaying Dan with his German periscope glasses. He clearly looks like an uber-nerd, but his neck is not in pain from staring up at Dan, so I guess the nerd wins. |
| Dan on top of the world! |
| Eland, Aimeé, and Auggie chilling under a huge boulder. I believe they were having a "braai" (BBQ). |
| Success!! |
| Aimeé showing off her owie |
| Maia and Auggie.. I think the pink and blue contrast is adorable. :) |
| Sweet victory! |
| Esmé going up the 22. |
| How awesome is that? |
| Woohooo! |
| Esmé reading to the pajama-ed kiddos |
| Sunday morning arrived with fog, but thankfully no rain |
| Mountains playing "now you see me, now you don't" |
| We headed off to The Island on Sunday morning |
| The kids all had a turn on a small boulder, here's Maia |
| Aimeé, quite pleased with herself |
| Auggiemeister |
| And Eland! |
| The kids found another great nook to play in |
| The Island is on the right side of this formation. Look for the red speck, which is me on Cracker (17)... And then our camera died. :( Dan flashed The Aréte with some major style, which I couldn't document. Tear. |
| Low-lying clouds on our way home |
