Livingston, Montana

We just reached Livingston, Montana. Dan is stopping in the Livingston Public Library to hit up the wifi and send some documents needed for our future mortgage. Next we'll head towards Butte, Montana and find a nice spot to camp somewhere around that area. There is no lack of national parks in Montana. :)

It is beautiful here! We enjoyed watching the ridgeline of the Absaroka Range to our right as we drove north from Yellowstone.

This morning was cold, and I'm afraid that since we're headed north it's only going to get worse. And yet it should be worth it nonetheless. We hiked out on the Bighorn Trail and loved it. I take back my comment about Yellowstone not being incredible - it IS incredible, just not when it's raining and covered with clouds. Check out the view from our a.m. hike:

Spectacular! The irony about hiking out on this beautiful, peaceful wilderness is that we had to make noise and yell out things like 'yo bear' every so often so as not to startle any bears. (Didn't see any, for those of you keeping track.)

Here's Auggie taking a hike/snooze:

And the hot springs:

And the view of the town of Mammoth Hot Springs:

Now to take Auggie for a quick walk around Livingston while Dan's in the library. :)

Aunt Elaine and I will be in Idaho and Montana in September for some business meetings and then take a few days to en joy Glacier National Park and do some hiking. Your pictures only make me more excited about the trip.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments! I love reading them. Erica, you may have caught on from my mom's comments, Stella spent nearly 3 weeks with Dan's parents and now she's with mine. Dogs aren't allowed on trails on most national parks, although I know she'd LOVE to be here. :)
