My new motto also passes though my head all day long at work. There's just not enough time in the day.
HOLY MACKEREL! I JUST SAW A PLOW TRUCK GO DOWN OUR STREET! THAT NEVER HAPPENS!!
Back to reality..
In baby news, Auggie is really getting into his jumper seat. He's figured out how to push himself off the ground to bounce. He thinks it's super. The only downside is that everything in his stomach gets bounced around too, so by the time we take him out the front tray is filled with drool and spit-up.
Drool has nearly trumped spit-up as the thing that most frequently comes out of Auggie's mouth. He HAS to be teething. Or pre-teething.. Same difference. Either way, he's constantly drooling, and if we're not careful he'll soak whatever outfit he's wearing down to the onsie in less than five minutes. Another teething warning sign is that he discovered that he likes chomping on his fingers. It used to be that he'd comfort-suck on his entire fist so hard that he'd give himself giant hickeys along his thumb and first finger. For the past three days he's switched occasionally to the 2- or 3-finger suck and chomp combo. Poor guy. Our friends Laurie and Mike said that their son used to bite his finger so badly that it was deformed until kindergarden. But after that it worked itself out, and now he's a successful high school Senior and even has a girlfriend. Phew, because our kiddo is definitely on the road to deformed fingers. :P
Back to teething - I need to feel his gums. Dr. Bob (Sears) says that you can feel ridges when they're really teething... Oh, and this whole teething thing, I hear it makes babies wake up at night again... Groan. Not looking forward to that. Thursday and Friday night Mr. Man slept through the night. That makes 4 nights total. I could really get used to this. :)
The new diapers finally arrived in the mail. I'm so excited to use them! As I write, Auggie is napping in a Swaddlebees Econappi. I still need to wash the insert 4 more times to make it fully absorbant, but the diaper itself is good-to-go. And crazy-soft. We're also trying a size medium Fuzzi Bunz and a Rocky Mountain Diaper. Hopefully one of these will work well enough for us to buy about 12 more diapers. Reviews to come..
My freelance project is going really well so far. I'm still only in the preliminary sketches for my client's web site, but it's been a lot of fun. My client is a fabulous illustrator. Simply amazing. She drew this incredible tree/tree house for the background of the web site, and it is STINKIN' COOL. Designing anything - magazines, web sites, whatever - is so much easier when you have great imagery to work with.
Dan is currently out with the dog skiing - a favorite activity for the two of them. Unfortunately, there is a lack of decent places for them to ski. The one really cool woodsy area nearby is often filled with dogs off-leash.. Yeah..
Here's Stella laying in front of the heating vent.. Smart dog. :)
Later on Dan, Auggie and I are bringing dinner to our friends with a 5-week-old baby. We haven't met him yet, but we're so excited! I know Auggie is only 3+ months old, but it seems like so long ago when he was born. He's a completely different baby now. Part of me is so glad that the sleepless nights (and days) are over, but at the same time I kind of miss him being that small because I feel like I wasn't conscious enough to really enjoy him that tiny. Still, it's amazing to watch him grow.

I just have to say it every time, Auggie's gorgeous!!! :) Cute haircut, can't wait to see it. I had two inches trimmed off mine on Sat. Love you! xoxoxo af
Hi Val, Auggie is in the jumper! Yea! He'll love it.
Yes, the drool (laugh). Give him one of those plastic rings with the water in them to chew on. (I have two at home and can mail you one if you don't have one.) You can refrigerate it too to make it cold. If babies have allergies, they breathe through the mouth (and not nose) and also drool.
Your haircut is darling! Love, M
