Resolution

Thank goodness that Dan followed through about the Campus Rec track situation. He called the Assistant Director of Risk Management (what a title), who, once he found out we were talking about a 3-month-old strapped to my body while walking, said that was absolutely allowed. What is not allowed is kids running around on the track themselves, or babies in jogging strollers on the track. Sheesh! That is so obvious to me (but perhaps not to everyone?) Seems like a little bit of clarity is all that was needed. This Assistant Director of Risk Management said he would e-mail the staff to elaborate on the rule.

This situation shows the varying degrees of pro-activity between Dan and myself. For some reason I got stuck in a state of helplessness regarding the track. I wasn't interested in conflict or confrontation, and settled restlessly into my mud pit of frustration. I complained about what an outrageous situation it was, but felt too timid to really do anything about it. I just didn't expect anything positive to happen. ... And yet, there are plenty of other situations where I'm the proactive one. Just interesting to think about.

Thanks, Lisey, for your prayers. ;)

Missed your call, at a conference in Valpo, will listen to your message now. Daniel & Katie G are here, and met a Rachel previously from your Fri morning group. Glad you can walk again!!! Love you!!! :) af Oh, and as I was reading your post, before I got to the end, I was thinking to myself that I think you are very proactive in general, so no worries! :)

YEah!! I didn't know you have a blog! Love it. Now I can follow your little "Bear" :).
Kyle used to work at Campus Rec and he says the guy with that risk title is probably Ed Morford- he's a Christian and a good guy, so glad to hear that resolved well.
