Getting Ready for School!

As I've mentioned before, Auggie starts school on Friday, and I've likely been the one who has been more nervous than him. However, today we got to go to school to meet his teacher and ask questions. It was a complete answer to prayer as I am significantly relieved! His teacher seems pretty awesome so far, the classroom looks like great fun, the playgrounds outside are also great, and, on top of that, he's in the same class as one of our American friends! Woohoo! Now that Auggie has seen his classroom and met Miss Nadine, he is looking forward to school, too. Relief!

We've been over the fact that he will stay at school by himself, however I explained that none of the other kids' parents stay, and all of them will be at school by themselves. We talked about how Dada will drop him off at school in the mornings, and Eland and I will pick him up when school is over. And we talked about how Auggie is going to do art projects, learn about letters and numbers, have stories read to him, and how he'll make lots of friends. I think he's going to do great!

Here's Auggie in one of the play houses at the playground

Eland is right there with Auggie every step of the way and is sooooo wanting to go to school, too
It didn't take me long to figure out that I needed to have a lunchbox and water bottle for Eland
