Eland at Home

Now that Auggie is at school each morning things are much quieter at home. However, Eland is not to be underestimated! So far he's been very happy to (1) have the Legos all to himself, (2) have me all to himself, (3) play with anything without the risk of having it taken out of his hands, and (4) attempt (attempt is our operative word here) to potty train, among other things.

Today we dressed and ate breakfast with Auggie, then after Auggie and Dan left we went through several pairs of underpants and shorts before reverting to a diaper, we read books (Richard Scarry's "What do People do All Day?" and his "Best Christmas Book Ever"--the UK version), we built Eland's Lego Land Rover into a "racing car!" then back again into the Land Rover. (Seriously, I am hiding the Legos from now on for Eland. Duplos are so much easier for a 2.5 y/o!) I called Vodacom in an attempt to get data on my phone working properly again. We had a snack, we put some batter together for some *awesome* oatmeal raisin cookies, we put the batter together for our chicken fingers for dinner, we hardboiled some eggs, and now Eland has Sally and Lightning McQueen "bonking", aka crashing, into a ball.

We'll leave to pick Auggie up sometime around 12:10pm. I have a parents meeting to go to tonight, so I'm going to walk to school with Eland in the kid backpack so that I can get some exercise since I won't get any later. And that's our morning!

EDIT: Eland got pretty upset right before it was time to leave to pick Auggie up. He wanted his brother home. Awwww. :)

It's really a box of dominoes. :)

Um, there's raw egg in there. I told you not to lick the dough, buddy. ;)
