That's right! As you all probably noticed in the past three posts, I'm pregnant. In fact, I'm very pregnant. Yesterday I hit 37 weeks–meaning that according to the medical world this baby is 'full-term' and can be born at any time. If he (yes, we decided to find out this time, we're having another boy!) is anything like Auggie, then I can expect to be pregnant for a little less than 3 weeks.. But you never know. Could be 5 more! But I'm praying that's not the case because my wonderful mom is flying out here to help out with Auggie and the baby, and she's coming 3 days before my due date. (Auggie was born 3 days early–right on time in my opinion!) I'm praying that my mom's early arrival is not wasted time!
So why the silence on my blog? Well, I had a handful of friends that I needed to tell 'in person' either via phone or email. And I did that a while ago.. But then I just got sleepy and distracted. There was always something else to do besides blog. And a pregnant woman likes to take her naps.. So there you have it, this wasn't necessarily intentional, but it's just the way it happened. Ah well. :)
To continue with the questions: A surprise baby? Nope! Auggie and his little brother will be approximately 21.5 months apart. That is certainly close in age, but I'm at home with Auggie already, and we knew we wanted more kiddos, so why not go for it? I'm sure life will be fairly chaotic in the beginning, but this way Auggie doesn't get used to being an only child and both boys will wind up with a great playmate. ... Although don't expect a baby no. 3 to be coming this close to no. 2!

11 week photos
My 11 week ultrasound was a bit of a surprise. We hadn't intended on doing one, but our midwife couldn't find the baby's heartbeat with the doppler and thus gave us the option of having one. We decided we'd rather know for sure than wait another 4 weeks. Apparently he was moving too much to catch with the dopper. Here's his first photo:
21 weeks
The first photo is of the baby's head with his left arm going across the photo and right arm covering his face. This is actually a classic Auggie position from the first several months of his life. These boys are definitely brothers!

And his legs:
It's really not been too bad. I was just as morning sick as I was with Auggie. Changing poopy diapers first thing in the morning during my first trimester was brutal and involved a lot of dry heaving on my part. But it passed around 14 weeks, which is when it passed with Auggie's pregnancy. I've been sleeping great this entire time (thank you, new bed!), and I've not had any food aversions like I did with Auggie. (Sausage disgusted me.) Although around months 3-5 I think I ate an orange or grapefruit every night before bed.. Mmmm! I've not gained as much weight as I did with Auggie (by about 5lbs at this point), but I suspect that's due to me chasing a toddler around all the time instead of sitting in an office chair. However, in this heat I'm also not walking as much as I did with Auggie. And I still have the time to gain more weight. :) This little boy is also a kicker! I thought Auggie was a huge kicker, but this one has gone above and beyond the call of unborn-child kicking duty. Wow! (Perhaps all the cold water I've been drinking?)
I am now at that cumbersome stage where rolling over in bed involves a lot of work and perhaps even holding my stomach as I roll. Auggie barely fits on my lap. And I have just a tiny bit of an outtie belly button. That never happened with Auggie, so I'm surprised! I also don't have nearly the defined linea nigra that I had with Auggie, but I do have just a faint bit of one. I'm thankfully GBS negative, again. Besides that, this pregnancy has been fairly easy and is incredibly similar to my first pregnancy. I'm carrying this one in the exact same way.
New Mexico is a very homebirth friendly state. I'd love to have a homebirth, considering we barely made it to the hospital with Auggie, but Dan doesn't think he can handle the bodily fluids involved, so off to the hospital we will go. I have a great midwife, and although I'm not likely to actually get her in the delivery room, I'm hopeful that I'll end up with someone good... We will see! All prayers are welcome!!
