We're still alive!!

It's been AGES since I've last posted and thus I have exactly one million things to say! Although it's already after 9p.m. here and so I don't have time to say them all. Still.. Life is moving on in the T household.

Mister Auggie is growing as ever. He is now fully mobile. He scoots backward, rolls over, pivots with his arms, and has recently discovered that he can pull himself forward. The latter was a big one! He no longer wants to be in his jumping chair or in the exersaucer, but much prefers the freedom of being on the ground. He has covered nearly every square inch of the dining room rug with spit-up (yep, still doing that), and has also maneuvered some into the tiny spaces between the floorboards. Hmmm.. I've discovered that I need to do a much better job of keeping the floors clean. (Have I mentioned that cleaning floors is my least favorite cleaning activity. I deplore floors!) However Auggie's manual dexterity is ever fine-tuning and now he's capable of grasping even small bits of debris.

Augs is also a fantastic eater. He loved acorn squash from his first bite, likes carrots, pears, banana (decidedly a favorite for Mom because they're so easy to prepare), and has even accustomed himself to avocado. If only I had a camera the first time he tried avocado - his face scrunched up as if he was eating a lemon. It was great. Avocado took a few tries before he was willing to swallow, but since day 3 he's been enjoying it. It also makes an enjoyable mess, which helps.

Dan and I are doing well. Still wondering what the heck comes next, but that's nothing new.

My postpartum body is doing the strangest things. I've found that my hair has finally stopped falling out and is in fact growing again. This means that I have all kinds of snaggle-hairs that are about 1-inch long sticking out of my scalp. They're not growing in nicely. Dan's cousin Kerry warned me about this. My hair is going to do some interesting things this summer in Champaign's humidity. I'm also realizing that I need to invest in a one-piece swimsuit for the family vacation. I read about how Jennifer Garner is getting back into shape by lifting weights, and while I thought that sounded like a good idea, I haven't been able to find a decent set on craigslist yet... Thus the one piece will have to do.. (I am back to pre-baby weight, thank you breastfeeding, but am proportioned in a whole new manner, no thank you stretched out pregnant stomach.)

I need to get the camera out again. Auggie is a completely different baby. And almost 7 months old! My oh my how my little man has grown! I'll definitely have pics for his 7-month birthday on Saturday.

The worst part about having a crawling baby is when you work so hard to keep your floor clean and then go to someone else's house. Yuck! It's not their fault, because they don't have a baby, but it's still a shock when their hands turn black. I'm very relieved that Ethan's crawling days are over!
