Halloween Fun

Wait, isn't Halloween a pagan holiday? Well, I'm pretty sure Jesus would come to my Halloween party whether it is or isn't. Just sayin'.

It's not like we're oh-so-excited it's Halloween today, it's more like the boys have been so very, very, very excited about painting their pumpkins, and to be perfectly honest I've been pretty excited about carving one. Auggie doesn't have school on Thursdays, so I knew this morning was the perfect opportunity to get creative.

Eland and Auggie with their painted pumkins!
The big pumpkin plan. Come on, did you expect anything else?!
The boys loved watching me use lots of sharp knives
We had to test out the "lantern" as Auggie kept calling it. I don't have any tea lights, so Auggie brilliantly suggested that we use the number 5 candle from his birthday. Perfect! (Do you see the clouds?)
We went into the bathroom and closed the door to get it dark enough. So much fun!
(That's a control tower off to the left, just in case you were wondering.)
We had to turn on the light a few times, too.
Now the front of our house is festive!!
We roasted pumpkin seeds...
...And decided to bake some mini pumpkin pies.
The pie-crust making got out of hand pretty fast.
And then the boys started making flour moustaches. Hehe..
It's a HUGE mess, but you're only 3 and 5 once, and it was so much fun
Now to clean the tornado that hit our kitchen before Dan gets home in two hours... And hopefully still pull off making dinner and finishing those cute little pumpkin pies.

Oh, and if I don't get around to posting (I'll try--still have to get birthday pix up, too, I haven't forgotten, Mom!), the boys are going to be pirates for Halloween. :D

How are the boys making the transition?
