So maybe not the post you were looking for from me, but hopefully that will come soon. I have
lots of thoughts to share, if I can just get my fingers on the keyboard for more than ten minutes! In the meantime, here are some of our latest faves from the library:

| DK | Experience Flight |
We all know that Auggie loves all things airplanes and flight. This book is a perfect fit, and it was published recently enough that it has information on the Airbus A-380. Auggie has been asking daily to fly on the A-380 ever since discovering that there's actually an airplane bigger than the Boeing 747. The book includes all kinds of cool pages about the Wright brothers, Chuck Yeager breaking Mach 1, and what it's like to be on the flight deck of a 747. This one is definitely worth owning.

| No Problem by Eileen Browne and David Parkins |
This is a fun little tale about some animals who skip reading the instructions to a mysterious kit and keep creating different iterations of a vehicle that isn't quite right. Thankfully Shrew finds the instructions and constructs the "aeroplane" perfectly.

| Mr Bear Babysits by Debi Gliori |
Debi Gliori is a great children's author and equally great illustrator. We pick up lots of her books from the library. They're fun stories about bears and bugs and include lines about bears singing things like, "Twinkle twinkle little slug; Leaving slime trails on the rug," to their little ones. What's not to love about that?

| No Matter What by Debi Gliori |
Nana and Papa have "No Matter What" by Debi Gliori. Their version is about how when someone travels far away they can still love you when you're back home. It's very nice. We picked up a book of the same title at our library, assuming it was the same book--wouldn't you assume that? It turns out that the British version is completely different. It's about someone you love dying. Not exactly what I was expecting, and probably not a book we'll be picking up again from the Stellenbosch library. Ah well.

An African ABC by Philippa-Alys Browne (our title is different than the Amazon title) |
I grabbed this book rather randomly last time we were at the library. Auggie needs just a little ABC practice before starting school in January, so I thought it might be nice. After two weeks of sitting on the shelf, Auggie picked it up and asked me to read it to him. I wouldn't say it's the best alphabet book, but the illustrations are spectacular! Whenever we're somewhere that I can decorate the boys' room again, I'll pick up a copy just to cut the pictures out and frame them. Seriously, the illustrations are top-notch!

| Clorinda Takes Flight by Robert Kinerk and Steven Kellogg |

| Clorinda by Robert Kinerk and Steven Kellogg |
We love all things Clorinda. We haven't seen any of these books here in South Africa, but we thoroughly enjoyed reading "Clorinda Takes Flight" from Gram and Gramps' library. Clorinda goes on wild adventures learning to dance or fly/build an airplane, and the illustrations are also great!
