Four-year-old on Bolt No. Four!

Holy crap everyone! Yes, here I am blogging! Haha... I can't even tell you just how many mental blog posts I've written, or how very, very much I have to catch up on. A LOT. We've been on five different planes, been on three different continents, and have hugged the majority of our family within the last month and it feels good. :) There's so much to write! I'll try. Who knows if I'll pull it off... But why not start with here and now? Shall we??

Auggie!!!

Today, the Amazing Auggie man climbed all the way to the fourth bolt on a route called Belly Button Slab (rated at 15) at Paarl Rock!!!!!!!! How cool is that?!?!?! Here are some awesome pic's of our awesome climber dude climbing Belly Button Slab:

And not to be left out, Eland actually climbed a bit on Belly Button Slab first, but we were getting pretty close to nap time and he had had enough pretty quickly. I should note that Eland is a complete natural, and last time we were at our local bouldering gym ("gym" is a bit of an exaggeration), he was climbing without anyone looking. (Don't worry, Mom, he wasn't far enough off the ground to get hurt. ;) Dan and I have decided that Eland takes after Dan in loving big juggy holds, while Auggie can handle slab rock quite confidently like his mom. ;)

It feels good to be out again in South Africa. We got back from the States last Wednesday, so we've only been back for a week and a half. It strangely seems like we've been here all along--sweating, wearing sunblock, and taking cold showers. And it doesn't feel even a little bit like Christmastime. Ah well. Enjoy the winter back home, because we're enjoying summer here.
