Why I Joined Google+ Even Though I Didn't Want To

I was uploading pictures and then suddenly got faced with a message from Blogspot saying that my 1GB Picasa quota was full. What the what?! Seriously? I mean, I can see paying $5 a year for more GBs, but they're asking for $2.50 a month for 5GB! I have no desire to pay $2.50 a month for the rest of my life just so that I can put photos on a free blog. Seriously!! Arrgh!

So anyway, apparently there's a "free size" and if you have only Picasa or Blogspot or whatever, it's 800x800 pixels and they won't resize for you. If you have Google+ then they will automatically resize pictures to the Google+ "free size" of something like 2000px, which doesn't get added into the 1GB quota. Whatever, yo. Google is succeeding in taking over the world, because I joined Google+ to get that bigger photo quota.

It's not that I'm against Google+, I just think that Facebook is plenty to manage, let alone another social media website no matter how much better it might be. I am not a member of LinkedIn, nor am I any longer a MySpace member. Too much social media drives me nuts. And now I'm apparently giving into Google taking over the world.... Speaking of which, I just created my own Chrome profile yesterday so that my bookmarks don't ever get lost again. Seriously, Google... Whatever. The end.

I totally know how you feel! I bit the bullet and am paying for the extra storage but I'm trying not to think about what that $2.50 is going to cost me over the long haul. Yuck.
