The vet called this afternoon with Stella's blood work results–she showed absolutely no indication of chronic renal failure! I was shocked! How cool is that?!?! Her vet said that she can go off the ridiculously expensive prescription diet dog food that probably tasted terrible, off the high blood-pressure meds, and only needs Pepcid AC for a few more days. Yay!!!
I am thrilled! I returned the $90+ bag of dog food to the vet and can even return the un-opened cans that we have. Auggie and I picked up some yummy-looking, high-quality dog food (for $38!) from a local pet store and replaced 1/3 c. of Stella's prescription food with the new stuff. She was dying to eat it. Sniffing the bag and everything. Poor girl's been on this awful tasteless stuff for so long!
We've been praying nonstop for Stella this weekend, and though you could say that she just had acute renal failure, I think God healed Stella. And at the very least He probably let her get sick so that we could go to the vet and find out that she's HEALTHY!! :D
