... Happened today. And oh how good it feels to have the toybox lid close again. Phew! I was getting sick of seeing all the evidence of kids in our house. Okay, just kidding. I love having kids, and the evidence of kids means that, yes, we have kids, which is a wonderful thing. But sometimes it's really nice to close the cabinet doors, shut the toybox, and push Auggie's chair up to the table far enough that I can't see the booster seat. I breathe in slowly, and enjoy a mostly clean and completely quiet house while the boys are napping, and know that by the time I exhale they will be awake and pulling every single toy out again.
For those who are curious, The Great Toybox Cleanup is when we pull all of the toys out of the toybox--on purpose, analyze which ones the boys will most like to play with, pack the rest of them up into the back of our coat closet, pull a couple of hibernating toys out of the coat closet, and--viola!--old toys are new again, and toys that have grown old recently can hibernate until they are new and exciting again in several months. (Thank you Tony Ranvestel for the idea. I know you don't read my blog, but you included this idea in a sermon once way back in January 2009. Head nod to you.)

Haha, we put the old toys that the kitties haven't played with in awhile in their Christmas stockings! Goodness knows they don't need anymore, so we just sprinkle some catnip on them and they are like new again.
We decided the other day that we would do this with the baby too until it is aware enough to catch on. (Without the catnip, of course!)
