As I write, I am, believe it or not, home alone. Well, with the dog. Dan decided to give me the evening off and take Auggie with him to Revolution (aka Vineyard youth group). Normally I'd probably say why bother and keep him here with me, but I realized that it's really not a big deal. Why not? The worst thing that could happen is Auggie gets tired/hungry. And we don't live all that far from church.
Anyway, back to the Four Month Old of the Month! Auggie is getting bigger and bigger. He's just exploding! We have one big boy on our hands. I don't know how he does it, but he just grows and grows. His well baby visit is next week and I am so curious to find out how much he officially weighs. Last month he was approximately 16.8lbs. Most strangers seem to be amazed to find out that he's as young as he is.
He's doing all kinds of interesting and fun things. Auggie's smiles come very easy now - easier than last month. He smiles all the time! It's so great! And he laughs, coos, and talks a lot. He's getting much better at tummy time, although it's still not his favorite. He's more interested in what's around him, he's almost definitely teething, and his dexterity is impressive. Auggie reaches out and grabs things with confidence (including my hair), and has perfect aim at getting his hands in his mouth. He also mouths anything that makes it to his mouth along with his hands. Auggie's pooping skills have also advanced with his age. Let's just say his diaper bombs are bigger, stinkier, and much grosser than they have ever been.. Yikes!
Here's another four-month photo:
